With the rapid development of information technology and progress of society, there comes demand for more efficient control over and multiple functions from illumination, thus intelligent light system comes into being. It exploits the technologies of electronics, communications and computer network and links various lighting facilities for more efficient management.On referring to massive papers concerning intelligent light system, the design for an adjustable luminosity ballast based on IR21592 technology is presented after analysing and comparing several typical electron ballast topologies. The design adopts double-stage electron ballast topology for the purpose of solving the low power factor problem resulted from the specific fluorescent lamp load. The thesis contributes mainly on the following aspects:Firstly, the thesis elaborates thoroughly on the theory of double-stage electron ballast power factor correction level. It theorctically stresses on the realization of a boost-type power factor correction circuit and presents a power correct circuit design based on L6561.The design stands experiments soundly.Secondly, the double-stage electron ballast adopts IR21592 control for its half-bridge inverter and the output modulation can be achieved if the DIM in IR21592 is connected to a 0~5V adjustable power supply. In Chapter Three, a design by BDA is presented for the electron ballast circuit the componet parameters for the circuit are adjusted on the basis of animation and experiment figures. The model product stands experiments well and meets requirements of the design. It sets the cornerstone for a final model.Finally, the thesis makes an introduction to a few polular intelligent light protecols and analyses the prospects of intelligent light systems according to requirements of intelligent light systems over centralized light control. Considering the characteristics of DMX512 digital light protocol, an intelligent light control system design based on DMX512 light contol field-bus protocol is presented.
