Along with the thorough of research as well as the swift development of the traffic infrastructure construction of our country, semi-rigid asphalt pavement can not already satisfy the situation, especially semi-rigid material strain cracking can not get effective treatment。Compare with semi-rigid asphalt base, asphalt treated base material shows superior performance in moisture susceptibility rapidness in construction, low repair cost and long life, too. The paper intensively studied mixture design method and pavement performance of asphalt treated base on analysis of performance requirement and structure characteristics of the mixture.The paper studied the dividing points of coarse-fine aggregate by Bailey method, and finally determined 4.75mm as the dividing points of coarse-fine aggregate of ATB30 mixture. Uses the Uniform design method to decide the experimental plan, and study various grade of coarse aggregates to the aggregate volume target influence by determination the voids. The SSC ( stone-on-stone contact ) is uede to appraise compaction which coarse mineral act on each other in the ATB30, and analysis the correlation between SSC and dynamic stability. At last, expect that the different effect of coarse-fine aggregate, the paper suggest the design of gradation about the asphalt treated owing to the dry-rodded tests of the fine aggregate.The paper studied shaping methods of specimen mainly by using the large Marshall sample, and made a comparison with the standard Marshall specimen making method. In addition also adopts SGC and Vibratory compaction, which are compared with large scale Marshall test by various index. And study the shaping methods to the mixture performance influence.The paper studied and compared the performance of asphalt treated base mixture, which include resistance to vertical deformation, low-temperature anti-cracking performance, water stability, etc. Also used the Complex Stability Index to appraise the resistance to vertical deformation of asphalt treated base mixture; and used the energy consumed when asphalt mixture sample destruction of low temperature bending to appraise the low-temperature anti-cracking ; and used residual stability and tensile splitting strength to appraise the Immersion stability and other influence factors of ATB30. From the gyratory compaction curve, the paper discussed the compaction properties of the asphalt mixture with different aggregate gradation according to the compaction properties parameters. The paper has molded specimen under different compaction effort, different thickness of bituminous layer, different compaction temperatures, and different bitumen-aggregate ratio through indoor simulating test, contrasted the bulk density and air void of molding specimen, analyzed the influence to asphalt stabilized base course compaction from these aspects for convenient construction controlling.
