| With the advancing of the time, the old city renewal now is not only the regeneration of the physical environment but also the renaissance and sustainable development including social, economic, cultural and spatial segments, also the balance of various interests. How to make the right renewal decisions and choose the proper renewal methods has become the main problem in the old cities. The dissertation is aim to summarize the renewal method's characteristic and the applicability, find out its relation with the social, economical and cultural backgrounds, and construct a comprehensive renewal strategy combining the method and values.The renewal method is implements based on the understanding of the renewal goal and it varies with it. Therefore, we first the analyses the main parts of the renewal because the interests of the main parts consist of the renewal goals. Then we study the renewal practice of China, compare the implement affects according to different methods and different backgrounds, and summarize the renewal methods'characteristic and the applicability. At last, we come to a conclusion that the old renewal city has different phases according to different backgrounds and situations, and we should make specific goals and use proper methods in each particular renewal phase.A case study of the renewal of the inner city of Ganzhou is made to prove the research in practice. By reviewing the process and results of the renewal of Ganzhou and comparing them with the social and economical backgrounds, it is concluded that Ganzhou is still developing city and revitalizing the economy and preserving the historical features should be its main renewal goals. Then based on the elaborate study on the elements affecting the renewal, we divide the renewal process into phases, make specific goals and choose key projects for every phase, and by achieving the goals in every phase, we can realize the revitalization for the inner city of Ganzhou step by step. |
