Pedestrian Traffic Impact Analysis Of Crowds Gathering Event

When China held planned special event it will attract a large number of spectators or tourists gathering, while the aggregated crowds moving within the event places which just has limited space and capacity, affecting pedestrian traffic accordingly, at the same time affecting the event of the orderly operation.The paper studied the system of Pedestrian traffic impact analysis of crowds gathering event (which to be called P-TIA/CGE) in China big city.P-TIA/CGE is microscopic studies on the inner link of three factors include crowds gathering events'organization and operation, events'field capacity and pedestrian traffic, explores how to coordinates relationship of the three factors, promulgates rule, is solution and effective method of the pedestrian traffic organization and management.With the crowds gathering event's conduct and development in the process, brings the pedestrian audience traffic demand increasing and/or capability of the pedestrian facility in the event field reducing, is affecting the normal pedestrian transportation system operation in the event field. P-TIA/CGE is to carry on the analysis to the transportation influence which pedestrian receives in the event walk region, if under the certain influence level, adopts the effective method to reduce the traffic influence which pedestrian receives, simultaneously gives the optimization of pedestrian organization, and facility improvement measure and suggestion, conducts prompt event organization plan in the earlier period, thus guarantee quality.The paper first introduces the common phenomenon of high frequency the crowds gathering events conducting in our country, spectator's crowded situation as well as the severe situation which most events already cannot withstand operating so massive crowded spectators demand, in order to draw out the significance and the effect our country to implement P-TIA/CGE.Next, establishes a set of pedestrian traffic influence analysis system of crowds gathering event innovatively, described the P-TIA/CGE system research content as well as the ways and means how to develop P-TIA/CGE in detail.And then established the threshold and it's value which P-TIA/CGE conducts, through the detailed analysis of each factor influences pedestrian traffic in crowds gathering event, inducted and summarized the simple threshold indicators which are advantageous for obtains, according to the event of research, corresponding to the indicators'value. Threshold brings convenience for government and event holder to carry out pedestrian impact evaluation in the event.Finally through a case study of badminton tournament in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, a kind of sports event activity, presented a detailed P-TIA/CGE process description, validated P-TIA/CGE theory and method in preceding text, and discussed pedestrian traffic impact evaluation through pedestrian simulation software, assisted decision-making of pedestrian organization plan in crowds gathering event, at last carried on the event operation plan, the pedestrian traffic organization through the P-TIA/CGE analysis result.
