Study On Method Of Traffic Organization And Management For Planned Special Events

By economic development of our country, more and more planned specialevents are held. Successful planned special events could embody the charm of thecity, but also improve the residents' life and local economics. However, manytraffic problems result in planned special events.This dissertation is supported by National Science Funds and subjected to theproject of "The Prediction and Prevision of Traffic Congestion", which is subjectedto the project of "Dynamic Traffic Management and Control of Urban Network andIts Simulation". Based on the analysis of planned special events, this dissertationpresents the steps of traffic organization and management of planned special eventsfirstly. Then, it is presented that the traffic demands, traffic supply and trafficimpact of planned special events. At last, it is presented that the traffic organizationand management strategies of planned special events.This dissertation is consisted of six chapters.Chapter 1 introduces research background of this dissertation and thedevelopment of traffic organization and management of planned special events.Chapter 2 defines and classifies planned special events firstly, and presentsbasic theory of traffic organization and management.Chapter 3 compares with traffic impact analysis of site development, it ispresented that traffic demands analysis, traffic supply analysis and traffic impactevaluation of planned special events. The method of traffic demands analysis andtraffic impact evaluation of planned special events is advanced.Chapter 4 presents the principles of traffic organization and management ofplanned special events. As a basis of these principles, it presents trafficorganization and management strategies of planned special events, which includestraffic demands management and traffic organization and management of trafficflow. It is presented that traffic organization and management strategies inemergency at last.Chapter 5 exemplifies "Football League A of China", which are held in ChangChun Nan Ling Stadium. According to considerable traffic survey data, it isanalyzed that the planned special event's impact to traffic around. It advances andsimulates relevant traffic organization and management strategies. The simulationresult illustrates that relevant traffic organization and management strategies arefeasible to the planned special event-football match.Chapter 6 summarizes the entire dissertation and presents the further researchdirections of traffic organization and management of planned special events.
