Study On The Planting Design Of Summer Resort

Summer Resort was chosen as a typical case in this study to make a comprehensive survey. Based on the analysis of references and the investigation of Summer Resort, a systemic study on the characteristic of plant landscape, designing concept and methods of planting design was carried out in this dissertation. The dissertation also gave some suggestions on how to protect and resume the plant landscape of Summer Resort. In the end, the application of theories of traditional garden planting design into the modern gardening was discussed. The dissertation has acquired achievement of three aspects as follows:(1) The dissertation summed up concepts and methods of traditional garden planting design. According to the relationship between planting design and nature, planting design and social culture, two concepts were concluded, "integration between human and nature" and "traditional culture". Through recordation in literature and investigation of Summer Resort, the methods of planting design were analyzed and summed up, they were: whole plan, planting methods, planting form.(2)With the comparison of historical and modern landscape, the article dissertated some problems in the plant landscape recovery of Summer Resort, and gave some personal suggestions. The plant landscape recovery should base on the natural conditions and history plant landscape features, taking local conditions into consideration and making scientific allocation.(3)Though the discussion of some basic concepts and methods in traditional garden planting design, the dissertation pointed out that the planting design today should carry forward the good traditions, studying from the national world and making the plant landscape rich of poetic flavor and picturesque scene.
