With the development of rehabilitation of risky reservoirs in our country, as well as the flaw of single safety factor method are emerging are clearly day by day, it is extremely urgent and important for us to seek for a new and more reliable method. Therefore, Reliability analysis method was raised by this thesis. The variabilities of various random variables which affected the stability of landslides are considered in reliability theory which based on probability theory, and the rigorous probability is used to gain the degree of security in the stability analysis of landslides. As a result, the reliability theory is more practical in the stability analysis and assessment of earth-rock dam slope stability. This article reviews the recent research state of slope stability and reliability theory, discusses the fundamental methods about slope stability and reliability analysis. Aiming at existing problem in analysis calculating of slope stability at present, thesis combines slope definite value analysis method with reliability analysis method, and carries on appraisal of stability and dependability and uncertainty of parameter. And when going on reliability analysis of slope stability, confirm with critical split surface using traditional definite value analysis method, then calculate reliability index and failure probability of slope in this sliding surface. Compare with using trial method to look for critical sliding surface in the past, it improves computational efficiency, can get safety coefficient and failure probability of slope stability at the same time. Monte-Carlo simulation method is an accurate technique for estimating failure probability and reliability index of the slope stability. In this paper, the Monte-Carlo method is applied to analyze the reliability of soil slope stability and to discuss the influence of correlation among the fundamental variables, the average sand variation coefficient of soil parameters on the reliability index based on engineering examples. Compiling the corresponding programs, and study the regularity among them. The conditions made is meaning of consulting very much in the probability index of slope stability analysis in the future.
