Varieties of large-span spatial structures had been widely used in public buildings like stadiums. But due to the complexities of these structures, connections of force transmission in different structure systems become much more complicated. Usually the supporting system's structural style of large-span structures is irregularly designed to obtain an economic and reliable design scheme. So its stress distribution can not be obtained accurately because of construction errors. Thus a real-time stress status monitoring in the key construction period of the supporting system should be carried out in order to guarantee the bearing capacity of the supporting system. In this thesis, aim at the respective key construction period of two support systems which support the large-span roof of a gymnasium in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, we monitor the strain of components with electrometric method, and discuss all the possible errors, then determine the control measures in the course of testing;Meanwhile, this thesis presents a set of methods to simulate such construction process with FEM software such as ANSYS, and choose different finite element model according to different studies. In addition, a simplified calculation method to calculate concrete's creep strain in the actual structure was introduced. The results showed that oblique column supporting structure's stress condition is un-predicable, and creep strain was prolific, but the structure is reliable because the overall stress level is low. In the oblique beam supporting structure, the plan of tensioning prestressing tendon is feasible and the beam pre-stressed can meet the design requirements. Simulation analysis results can tally well with actual results, and the FEM model is well done.By comprehensive analysis and comparison, this thesis confirmed that the supporting system had attained loading request of design regulation and satisfied the safe reliability demand. Finite element method was applicable to analyze the construction process referred above, and guide the optimal design of structures.
