China is one of the members of IMO, she also is the state party to the "STCW 78/95". Ten of thousands of seaman go overboard from China everyyear. Skill level of these seaman have a vital impact on the safety status of global navigation. It is already a hot issue to investigate that how can train the top-ranked seaman in this information-based times. In our training, it always is important and difficult to learn the marine propulsive diesel engine. The impellent diesel engine serious influense the safty of vessel in voyage, so trainees can not disassemble this diesel engine freely. Even in the universaty's laborataries, there are also many constraints on the students' training lessons of diesel engine assembly and disassembly, such as the shortage of experimental equipments and rooms, the high cost of mainteinance. But there is no these restrct if training with the advance Virtual Reality system. It keep the trainees acquire the skill needed as much as possible in the lecture. In this paper, the 6S35MC type Main Engine of Dalian Maritime University's "YUKUN" vessel is used as a example. It is MAN-B&W Corporation's large-scaled, low-speed and two stroke diesel engine. It is representive in the marine diesel engine. Based on the work cycle characters of Direct-Injected twostroke engine, this paper dirvate the mathematics model that discribe the working process in the cylinder bore of diesel engine. The course of diesel engine virtual reality system can be divided into following several steps: the first step is data's collection, it is the basis of the else steps. The more information collected , the easier following work can be achieved. The next step is modeling. The data gathered in the previous step be convert into digital models that can be recognised by computer. So this step is pivatal. Its workload is very large and it influence the effect of VR system direct. There are thousands of polygons in these models that can not enfore the effect of VR system, but they will consume a large part of the computer resource.so the models are optimized in the third step to meet the requirement of users. Finally, VR system be manufactured and optimized, and diesel engine model then be imported into this VR system. So a man-computer interactived desktop Virtual Reality that can display, cruise and (dis) assemble has been down.
