Railway signaling devices are very important to ensure train safety, improve transport efficiency, transmit information and improve the working conditions of staff. High technology equipment and information management is an inevitable direction of development. In recent years, information-based railway signaling equipments have achieved great development. However, management still can not meet the information needs of field. With the train speed up, open time for maintenance becomes shorter, which makes signaling equipment maintenance work to fewer opening check and more patrolling check. The patrolling work of signaling devices becomes more and more important. Therefore, in order to guarantee the quality of the patrolling management and ensure the normal operation of signaling equipments, we must develop advanced electronic patrolling management system.Electronic patrolling management system is composed of patrol instrument and information management software. This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of the human-computer interaction software--patrolling management information system. Railway signaling devices are widely distributed, and the existing electronic patrolling system can not achieve patrolling examination of both points and lines. Therefore, we designed and developed the patrolling management system for railway signaling devices which based on GPS(Global Position System), GIS(Geographic Information System) and RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology. In this thesis, a detailed analysis of requirement and use case analysis of critical operation have been performed with IBM Rational Rose software and Unified Modeling Language. And many critical operations such as logging in system, adding patrol sites, importing records and replaying historical data are designed and analyzed by sequence diagrams and collaboration diagrams. Database and software protection program are also designed and completed. On this basis, a high reusability of software architecture and friendly user interface has been designed with Visual C++ development tools. Many modules such as information management, program planning, records management, database maintenance and report statistics are implemented. GPS data and GIS Map-Matching algorithms are combined to examine the patrol route, while RFID data is used to examine whether patrol workers have inspected the equipment. Based on the analysis of the two ways the patrolling quality of workers is examined. In addition, the map-matching algorithm and system functions are tested with field data, and the expected design goals are achieved.
