Wind energy is an environmental friendly and renewable source. Substantially development and using wind energy will greatly reduce the use of fossil energy and limit green house gas. In this thesis, the control method of wind power system with squirrel-cage induction generator is discussed in depth.Asynchronous generator is connected to the grid through a back-to-back double PWM converter. Generator side converter controls generator speed by indirect magnetic field oriented vector control. Grid-connected inverter with synchronous PI control is used to keep DC voltage constant and regulate power factor. This thesis also analyzes the current commutation of generator side converter in generator model and motor model.In order to research wind power generation system in laboratory, this thesis designs an experimental platform to research the work principle and control strategy of wind generation system. An induction machine is used to simulate the real wind turbine torque characters and drive the generator. This thesis completes the experiment that includes wind turbine simulation and grid connection. Experimental results show that this control strategy can be used to achieve variable speed and constant frequency operation for induction generator wind power system.This thesis makes a preliminary research on multi-terminal DC wind power system and advances two control model when considers grid scheduling order and achieve the experiment under single generator condition.
