Chinese train control system CTCS classification has been made according to train control system classification in the ERTMS/ETCS. The interface protocol of STM in the ETCS system has been clearly determined, but the interface of STM in the CTCS system is almost open. This dissertation discusses the bottom layer of STM's PROFIBUS interface in order to meet the demands of importing foreign technology and equipment, the demands of approaching the world advanced technology. It has theoretical and practical significance. Its main achievements are as follows:1. First, it introduces the definition and usage of STM, and the requirements of STM's PROFIBUS interface in the ETCS system. It gives a general description of the PROFIBUS's characteristics, advantages and its relevant standards.2. It places an emphasis on the design of the hardware circuit and software of the STM's PROFIBUS interface. The hardware adopts DSP as the controller, adopts Siemens ASIC SPC3 as the communication controller. This can make the data transfer fast and reliable. The design of hardware circuit includes design of basic DSP circuit, power supply circuit, reset circuit of DSP, SPC3 interface circuit, level converter cicuit and interface circuit between SPC3 and DSP. The design of Software is mainly done according to the PROFIBUS-DP communication protocol, STM communications protocol and the demanded packet format. The software design mainly includes establishing communication link, Data processing and making GSD document.3. Finally a network using Siemens PACKAGE4 package is established to perform the communication experiments. It introduces the DP-master interface module (IM180+IM181), and the specific steps and operations of network establishment. A simple communication between the master and slave stations has been made. It implements the design requirements.
