The issue of this paper is based on a national project which a university is currently studying: Knowledge-based Ship-design Hyper-Integrated Platform .The aim is to integrate the current mainstream commercial software systems, take the lead in achieving operational ship design flow, data flow, information flow digital design process, embody the characteristics of a high degree of integration, provide the public digital software platform which connects to the research, design, manufacture and operation. As one of the research branch, the issue of this paper is to automatically complete the comprehensive assessment of the ship power station design selection by the existing software system, and this will change the previous ship power station selection method which just relies on the experience of the persons.The selection of the ship power station should be considered by many factors, including the reliability of the power station system, the economy, applicability, etc. In the first ,the paper sets up the formula to calculate the reliability and the lower confidence limit of the system according to the basic ship power station theory and reliability theory,. Then the paper takes a 3100 TEU container ship power station for example, sets up the reliability calculation model, calculates the reliability and lower confidence limit of the different container ship power station solution, the calculation results are consistent with the actual situation. As for the economic factors, this paper mainly considers about four facets including the fuel economy, oil economy, the initial investment, and the spare parts and maintenance costs, according to the characteristics of ship power station system. In this paper, the economic of the diesel generator set and the shaft generator set are compared. The result shows that we need to re-evaluate the view that usually we think the Shaft generator is energy-saving and more economy. In order to complete a comprehensive evaluation of the ship power station design solution, in this paper, the present computer aided evaluation system of ship power station design solution project comprehensive assessment has been substantiated and consummated as a tool with the MATLAB language , base on the theory of the fuzzy math and gray theory , improved the feasibility of this system, Provided the effective way to deal with the indeterminated problems, to make them quantitative and quantitatively assess the plan comprehensively, objectively and scientifically in the multiplex-factor engineering system.The paper takes the MATLAB 7.1 language as the tool to develop the evaluation system, which realizes the intelligent evaluation of the ship power station design solution. If using other developing language, it is hard to deal with the matrix calculation .But it is easy for MATLAB to solve such problems. We make good use of the high integration features of the MATLAB, put all the functions modular , make the procedures maintainability, easy to modify, and ease of expansion. Meanwhile GUI modular system makes the evaluation software a friendly interface and easy operated.This issue has done a valuable research in the ship power station intelligent design selection field, and it is of some original creation to apply the fuzzy math and grey theory in the comprehensive evaluation of the ship power station design solution. Meanwhile the ship power station design solution intelligence evaluation software will help to the Knowledge-based Ship-design Hyper-Integrated Platform to some extent.
