As the integration and globalization of the world economy, many companies face big challenge which they never met, it require that companies should improve agility and adaptability and reduce the product cost largely. The facility layout research can help companies enhance flexible and competitive, increase the efficiency and reduce cost.This article is analysis and optimize facility layout base on the characteristic of LCD industry. It base on the process of TFT LCD middle/small size module, compare the layout of"Reed, Muther, Apple"plant, and optimize the layout following four steps as below: scope define data collect and analyze design layout layout evaluate and select.First, selecting and confirming the characteristic and client of product. Second, deciding the size of layout base on the requirement of the market. Third, analyzing the production flowing and material flowing by the From-To chart, and analyzing the relationships which effect the non-material flowing. Then drawing the position relationship chart and getting the planning of layout. Finally, using the method of factor comparing and integrating to evaluate the layout and get the best one is plan B. It has been pilot run for one month. Then I analyze the data and issue of it and make improvement, get the optimized layout at last.
