This paper is based on the Project——Research on Heavy Commercial Vehicle Cab Development , which is sub-project of the National 863 key project"Advanced Technology integrated development on Heavy Commercial Vehicle".Automotive product design can be seen as many as constant evaluation and optimization process. Objective, and accurate evaluation of design options is essential to the design results.According the main content about the ergonomics research, build the ergonomic performance evaluating frame of the heavy commercial vehicle cab, including the driver comfortable characteristic, handling facility, driver visual field, inner space, indoor climate and security six large evaluation aspects. Then, divide the subjective evaluation indicators and objective evaluation indicators. It also introduces the relevant evaluation criteria at home and abroad(mainly GB and SAE standards) and a comprehensive evaluation method ---Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation. All of these provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent evaluations.Human data is the most important basis of human-machine system designing. This paper detailed the description on the human data and statistical characteristics, and then the concept of human dimension data reaches the transition from the scope of an individual to a group. Also, summarize out three adaptive technique about population anthropometric data---Regression approach, Multivariate model approach and Percentile approach. Define the methods how to apply the human data to the design of the evaluation process. Elaborate the application occasion and range of the three methods and define the method how to choose the reasonable boundary manikins corresponding the different accommodated population. Accordingly, the evaluation of different design requirements could select the different body data applications.H-point and its layout is essential link to the ergonomic design of driver and vehicle design. This article introduced the concept of H point and the importance of it in the process of vehicle design. Then summer up the three traditional methods about the layout of the H point---SAE agreeable method, the model law and experience model method. In order to make up the deficiencies of the above methods, advance a new method of H point arrangement. Solve the comfort field of H point according the range of movement about limb. Firstly, according to the sitting comfort and based on the body data of somebody, create the domain of H point. In this paper, put forward a difference algorithm, using it rate the comfort field of H point. Then, using the appropriate population data application, generate the suitable domain for specific groups. This paper generates the H point comfort area to meet the male group from 5th percentile to 95th percentile, and then according with the requirement of the seat adjustment range, design and re-position the layout of H point of the heavy commercial vehicle. Realize the graphic distribution of H comfort field in VC++. In accordance with the upper H point comfort field range, generate the H point adjustment window.Finally, simply introduce the CATIA knowledge engineering module, using it, build the instruments of interior layout, then set up complete parameterized evaluation system. Using SAE standard and GB standard realize the objective evaluation on the driver vision including direct vision and indirect vision (direct vision including front-under vision, instrument vision, A pillar blind area and the former windshield scraping area. Indirect vision including rearview mirror vision).Eventually carry out comprehensive evaluation on driver vision adopting fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, thereby, finish the ergonomic evaluation on the driver vision. Carry out evaluation on the heavy commercial vehicle under research, the result is good, so can do further improvement.
