Structure Selecting And Design Of Viaducts In Front Of NanJing Railway Station

The viaduct in front of Nanjing Railway Station is an important part of the construction projects of the Nanjing railway station square. The viaduct's design is the main content discussed in this paper. The viaducts forms' chosen were researched in this paper particularly when the viaducts were located in transportation joint or scenery. The aesthetics of bridge and surroundings are emphasized too, and the harmony of structure and environments was the precondition. The general layout, girder, pier and adjunctive establishments of the viaducts were studied and how to put them together harmoniously were brought forward.The structures' mechanical analyze is also important. The girder with crescent shape section was researched in this paper and some of whose mechanical characteristics were found. By the means of mode calculating and comparing with other types of girders some traits of the crescent shape girder were summarized and put forward.The viaducts' practical designs were recommended concisely. The viaduct had been put into using for 2 years, whose appearance and the scenery of circumstance by the lake were harmonized, which has great value in applying and vision. And the practice show that the design based on aesthetics of bridge was successful.
