Var compensation is important to keep power system to run stably and economically. The old var compensator, for example, synchronous condenser and saturated reactor have defect of slow response speed and high loss. However, with comparison of other compensators, static var compensator has merit of fast response speed. The article discusses algorithm of compensating admittance, and analyzes traditional reactive power algorithm and instantaneous reactive power theory by simulation of MATLAB. We design main control unit based TMS320LF2407 and monitoring unit based PLC. In this article, we introduce design of 10kV thyristor valve. The real waveform and result of testing is given in this last charpter.
