Research On Web-based Product Structure Management System In PLM

Each section in an enterprise, various person, cooperative partner and customers can get the related production information in any time or and place by using PLM(Product Lifecycle Management) which is based on the Web. PLM(Product Lifecycle Management) which is based on the Web can satisfy the demand of business collaboration which is not in the same place; It can alse reply the development trend of the economic globalization and the networked-manufacturing.Product structure is the kernel concept spanning departments and management. And it is the ligament and bridge connecting each application part of PDM. Many information of enterprise production come from product structure. Product Structure Management is one of the most important parts in PDM which is based on Web.In this thesis, at first, it is discussed sufficiently about the essential concepts, functions for the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) . Then, based on the discussion above, a research on PLM technology has been carried out. And by using some softwares like ERwin, Visual Studio 2003, MS SQL Server2000 etc.,a development of the Product Structure Management system in PLM is realized as an instance.With the completion of this project, the following innovative results has been obtained in the research:1. The Correlation theories and the main functions of the Product Structure Management (PLM) is introduced briefly, the module of the Product Structure Management is analyzed deeply. 2. The characteristic of Product Structure Management system which is based on Web is analyzed and the framework and adoptive technologies is discussed.3. The requirement analysis of module development is achieved,then the general design and analysis of system structure and function framework on PSM system is discussed.Besides, product structure tree management, document correlating management, BOM management, Privilege Management,the function of PSM system is achieved.4. With Erwin, a tool of database modeling, the database of PLM is designed based on MS SQL Server 2000.5. By using .NET Frame Work, C# language and Relational Database, the thesis build the module of the Product Structure Management in the PLM System and then finishes the related function of Product Structure Management in Web environment.
