Currently, urban railway transit system is becoming a network with complicated passenger flow condition. Therefore, the dynamic behavior characteristics of pedestrian must be introduced and considered as factors in the hub design and evaluation. In the purpose of inspecting that whether urban transportation hubs could meet pedestrians' demand of travel, an evaluation methodology and relevant index system is presented. The study in the dissertation provides theory and method support to the practice of hub plan, design and operation. It consists of the following parts:1. Reviewed and analyzed current research on adaptability, and then defined the adaptability of walking facilities in the hubs based on the general conception of adaptability, and the method of analyzing adaptability of walking facilities is stated too.2. The paper classified the facilities in hubs, and state four characteristics of facilities which have impact on the pedestrian's behaviors. Pedestrians survey was conducted to study characteristic of pedestrian walking behavior, and the corresponding pedestrian walking behaviors in passageway, stairway, platform and AFC facilities was given out too.3. In order to provide an simulation platform for the adaptability analysis of walking facilities, which consider with the dynamic behavior characteristics of pedestrian, a model of abstracted walking facilities environment and a model of pedestrian movement was proposed based on NetLogo, a multi-agent simulation platform.4. Combined with the job of adaptability analysis of walking facilities, a static analysis method and a dynamic analysis method for walking facilities adaptability is presented, and a evaluation index system has been established using the static method and the dynamic method.5. With the purpose of proving the rationality and feasibility of analysis method, the evaluation index system and also the simulation platform, a case study about the adaptability evaluation of walking facilities about exit A of two lines in Xizhimeng transport hub is given out.
