The Explorations And Researches For Temporary Landscape Architecture In Modern City Events

So far, more and more city events of all scales and levels are held in many countries all over the world, such as Olympic Games, festival events, Expos and garden shows. These events become an opportunity and promotion for city to develop and improve environment. In these short-term activities, the temporary landscapes were magnificent scenery. On one hand, temporary landscape made the city events charm and affinity. On the other hand, temporary landscape avoided the contradictions between temporary uses and long-term occupations to the land and material resources. At the same time, temporary landscape which is a special form of landscape promoted innovation and development of the garden art effectively.This paper made a study on temporary landscape. Through some successful cases, this article analyzed the advanced experience of overall planning strategy of temporary landscape in the city events.Then, the article focused on the most typical temporary landscape------exhibition garden in gardenshows, and summed up the principles and design approach on the aspects of theme, space, material, construction, color, participation, immediate effect, spot guidance, application of new technology or facilities and ecological measures. Finally, the author suggested the strategy of reasonable application of temporary landscape in domestic city events currently to promote city sustainable development.
