Rapid economic development has accelerated the process of urbanization,the continuous growth of urban population led to the rapid growth of urban automobile volume and urban residents trip. In order to alleviate more and more urban transportation pressure, some cities in China have developed the BRT's related research, but most of them profited from the overseas planning, the construction and the managerial experience, and still lacked deep analysis,which combine China urban transportation characteristics and the development strategy. Considering several important factors, such as urban transportation, urban layout, ecological environment, economic society development, and so on, a method used to construct and consummate Urban Bus Rapid Transit system, based on the urban road planning and layout, is advanced in the thesis, which is designed according to the theorys named Urban Transportation Planning, Highway Network planning, Area Theory, Operations Research and Systems Engineering.First, the BRT's external conditions are analyzed, which mainly include the road conditions and the traffic conditions. And then the urban BRT and other urban mass transit's technical economy targets are studied systematically, and the synergetics principle is applied in the adaptability analysis, and each factor of the influence in adaptability is researched, at the same time a mathematical model is established simultaneously to evaluate the system adaptability. In particular, aiming at our citys'development present situation as well as the main problems, the feasibility of constructing BRT system's in chinese cities is qualitatively analyzed in macroscopic angle. Then according to the existing method, the prediction analysis is carried on the urban public transportation demand. As the following, according to the anlysis of the urban BRT passenger transportation corridor and the passenger transportation nodes, the factors of BRT system network planning is researched as the emphasis, including transportation demand, urban road condition, different transportation integration, exterior infrastructure and operation condition. The methods of urban transit network planning is summarized in this thesis. Large carrying capacity and minimum of the passenger trip time as the optimization objective, BRT network planning is optimized. Considering several key factors, such as the line length, the passenger flow between two stations on the line, the line distance, the average vehicle speed, the unidirectional passenger transportation capability and so on, the mathematical model is established, which is solved by a simple and easy arithmetic . Meanwhile the BRT network's reliability is analyzed in the thesis.Last, the above method is tested and verified to solve the practical problem, and a BRT network planning is proposed, meanwhile the planning scheme is evaluated scientificly and rationally.
