Since the 1970s, we have being arranged the piloting penstocks on the downstream dam surface in the concrete dam toe Power Station of high head. So we have gained the precious experience in the areas of the design, experimental research, construction and operation. The built Dongjiang and Jin Shuitan Hyperbolic thin arch dams in China firstly has used the downstream dam surface pipeline's arrangement form ,consequently gaining lots of experience. With the unceasing development of our country water and electricity enterprise, the dams of this type are increasing day by day and the caliber, the flood peak and the HD value also unceasingly increase. The researchers in our country have done many research works in the areas of internal force analysis, strength calculation, Section design and outsourcing concretes dehiscence. This paper at first emphatically introduces the most representative theoretical analysis method inour country——"The orthogonal opposite characteristics multi-layered linkquasi-analysis method", also introduces one short-cut method—the structure mechanics method.This paper briefly introduced the penstocks' development condition, Summarized design research achievement and the prominent structure merits of steel liner-reinforced concrete penstocks. And this paper emphasized in detail the structure style's mechanical character and destroy mechanism, mainly including mathematics simulative of concrete , reinforcing steel bar and liner , stress-strain character and destroy mechanism ,the influence of different dispose type for stress and strain. And this paper discussed the present computational method and finite element nonlinear analysis of steel liner-reinforced concrete penstocks mainly including theory analytic method, finite element method and model testing method. The theory analytic method mainly includes the structure mechanics method and the orthogonal opposite characteristics multi-layered link quasi- analysis method.Research method in this paper is that : first, the structure model of steel 1iner-reinforced concrete penstocks is built and nonlinear analyzed by software named ANSYS. This paper considered the factors which are not possible to deal with or are simplified in classical theory analysis method : concretes and steel bar correlation , elastoplastic energy, materials behavior under multiple spindle stress condition , concretes dehiscence characteristic and the aggregate linking interlocks the performance and so on gaining the structure style's mechanical character and destroy mechanism of steel liner-reinforced concrete penstocks ,then this paper concrete analyzed stress development process of that. Finally this paper carried on the optimization design using the optimized module provided by ANSYS in the favor of APDL.
