The effect of stirrups in concrete structure holds the balance, and it has large influence on the performance of structure after corrosion. But there was little research on the corrosion of stirrup especially mechanics, so these problems have been studied in this article.Galvanic corrosion mechanics was expatiated theoretically in this article, and existence of galvanic corrosion of stirrup in concrete structures was proved by the way of "weightlessness". Then the process of galvanic corrosion of stirrups in concrete structure was analyzed, they were: accelerated corrosion of stirrup under activation-passivation battery; accelerated corrosion of stirrup and decelerated corrosion of longitudinal under the connection of heterogeneous metal; corrosion of stirrup and longitudinal when the reached steady state. It put forward academic formula of the time-related model according to the ready model and influencing factors, namely created the mathematical model.Disciplinarian of galvanic corrosion mechanics of stirrups was studied by the way of "current density" in this article. 3 concrete blocks was made to research the mutative rule of current and potential in the test, parameter of time-related model of stirrup corrosion was analyzed by test. The result of the test indicated that: polarization phenomenon existed in corrosion current between the steel, and the polarization reduced with the increase of chloride thickness, then the electricity of galvanic corrosion increased; the variation of steel potential was in corresponding with the change of electricity of galvanic corrosion. the curve of corrosive current between stirrups and longitudinal matched well with the academic analytic time-related model, the experiential formula of time-related model from test result was in accordance with the theoretical one, the range of spreading experimental formula was larger.The innovation of this article was that: studying on the stirrup corrosion mechanics by the way of "steel cut then joint"; creating mathematical model of stirrup corrosion for the first time, and eliciting formula by test. The test method and model formula can be the reference of more research of stirrup corrosion.
