Many of the countries, communication bases, meteorological stations and pharoses in rural areas in which the places Power Grid can not cover are in need of much more photovoltaic power equipments with higher quality now.But in these special fields, the application of PV system is still in starting stage.It costs too much to use and maintain PV system and the power generation efficiency is low,which has seriously restricted the extension of PV system.Therefore it has become an urgent problem to develop the PV system which has lower cost, reliable performance and is convenient to maintain.And this paper has carried on the beneficial search in the respect.Based on the basic principle and operating characteristics of photovoltaic power system, the collectivity design of the system is developed in which the technical features and functional requirements of stand-alone photovoltaic power system are also considered.The system can be divided into 2 modules: main module and monitoring module.The main module uses the MCU AT89C52 as the central controller and it is used to control the photovoltaic power system and collect the running state of the system. The monitoring module uses a three-level management mode.It provides a monitoring and controlling platform of stand-alone photovoltaic power system for users.It realizes the unmanned and remote monitoring functions of stand-alone photovoltaic power system.Based on the system overall design, the paper describes the design of every module of the system in detail.The concrete contents are as follows: first the paper improves the electronic switch of the main circuit, which has been proved feasible by experiment and improves the cost performance of the system.Then gives a presentation of design of the field monitor module and the remote monitoring system. The field monitor module is a principal-subordinate detecting and control system.It bases on RS-485 fieldbus. The cost of the system is low and its installation is flexible and convenient. And it is easy to control.The computer of the monitoring center and the microcontroller of the field monitor module are linked through RS232 bus, modem and Public Telephone Network. Finally,the performances of the system are proved by the experiments. And the paper presents a summary of the task.
