In introducing the biology of the concept of DNA and genes molecular genetic concept, simultaneously analytic base element and essential requirements of product design, In preliminary establishment research direction product design DNA model. Take the jewelry design as the object of study, analytical study objective and significance, as well as present research among domestic and foreign, clarifying its concept and the classification, then analyzes reorganization jewelry design development vicissitude according to time sequence and spatial order and so on, induces design styles and characteristics of different periods and region. Studies the inherits and improves, similarities and differences, between the new product and old product, analyzes the factors which have reference value for genetic ,have major change in the factors and factors play a major role on the change in the development of jewelry design. Through contrast similarities and differences, recognizing he hereditary feature and the variation characteristic of jewelry design, study the "genetic material" of jewelry design and the essence of "heredity unit" gene, establishment characteristic model, attempt to establish its evaluation theory, referring to the principle of genetic engineering to research jewelry design.The creative point of this paper is the introduction of design DNA and product gene concept, conduct the research from product form design, take jewelry-the special industrial products as example to analysis the essence of product design DNA and gene, and establishment characteristic model, analysis its genetic variance, utilizes genetics theory of biology domain in the product design, better instruct the design work, extends the design ideas.
