| Substation monitoring configuration software is an important component of integrated substation automation system, it integrates data acquisition, communication, display, control, and other functions into a whole, and is the ultimate realizable tools. It is expensive to use large - specialized monitoring configuration software, and small substation is unbearable. It is not a very good choice to adopt a common configuration software for small and medium substation which is poor of software development capabilities. Actually, common substation configuration software and the actual situation often exists a certain gap. Therefore, the design and development of low-cost, efficient, suitable for the requirements of small and medium-sized substation monitoring configuration software has a strong engineering significance and market value.According to requirements of industrial substation monitoring software performance and function, the paper designs an industrial substation monitoring software functional module based on in-depth analysis of industrial substation automation system, and designed and realized three major functional modules consist of communications management module, database module and graphical interface configuration module based on VC++ 6.0.Communication Management Module use multithreading technology to achieve a serial communication and network communication, enabling the data acquisition and analysis functions. Database module elaborate the real-time database system architecture analysis, the characteristics of real-time database, real-time database of real-time data management and database analysis. Configuration GUI application modules include basic GDI function of figure drawing, graphic element attribute editing tools and the design, and how to form dynamic animation effects make graphic elements connecting with the variables ,and ultimately achieve real-time monitoring of the purpose of running data.
