Hydropower resource is a clean energy source with no pollution. It is rich in hydropower resources in our country with grand area,which is especially suitable for middle, little hydropower resources. With the fast development of national economy, the demand of electric power is increasing steadily. After large-scale hydropower stations are fully exploited, there is a large amount of middle, little hydropower stations which already existed and under building. To improve their technology and management standard, it is high time to develop hydropower station computer supervisory control system.The hydropower station computer supervisory control system is the key equipment for monitoring the equipments of hydropower station in real time. It is a highly integrated system with multiple subjects and specialities, relating to computer network technology, database technology, computer graphics technology, digital electronic technology, automatic control technology and so on. Through analyzing the structure modes of hydropower station computer supervisory control system, network communication system, the Local Control Unit (LCU) in China and foreign countries and considering the demands of Automation Generation Control (AGC), the paper demonstrates configuration of the computer supervisory control system of middle, little hydropower station.The system is divided into two layers with layered and distributed system structure, station control system and LCU. 100Mbps fiber optics Rapid Ethernet is adopted between the main control equipment of Station control system and that of LCU. PROFIBUS DP field bus is adopted between the main control equipment of LCU (Programmable Logical Controller (PLC)) and other apparatus of LCU. Contraposing that the LCU plays an important role in the hydropower station computer supervisory control system, operational flow of waterpower generation unit and Human Machine Interface (HMI) of LCU are designed in this paper. Also the single neuron adaptive PID controller is introduced into power regulation module, to improve the intelligence level of waterpower generation unit. The hydropower station computer supervisory control system has achieved theunmanned or few manned requirement in function and configuration of soft and hardware, which has a bright application future.
