This project comes from technic improvement projects of Jinduicheng Molybdenum Corporation. On the basis of analyzing the principle of the wire diameter measurement system used in domestic and foreign, a new molybdenum wire diameter measurement scheme based on projection enlarging method is proposed in this thesis according to the technical requirements of the Jinduicheng Molybdenum Corporation. Then a real molybdenum wire's diameter measuring system is designed, which meets with the corresponding requirements, and realizes high speed and high precision on-line measurements of molybdenum wire diameter.The principle of the CCD sensor and its application in the non-contact measurement are introduced in the thesis. The construction of linear CCD sensor non-contact measure system and its related problems to be solved are illuminated. The TCD1502C linear CCD image sensor is adopted in the system and non-contact measurement is realized. Lighting system was designed by the high-power LED light source, and the sensor driving program is designed and debugged by using the EPROM method. The data processing circuit and binarization circuit are completed. System measurement software is designed and debugged, and the lighting system is designed.The errors sources of this instrument are analyzed detailedly in the thesis and the corresponding solutions are suggested. The measurement system is built and calibrated. A series of experiments are devised, and the result of the experiment and datas processing indicates that the measurement system is stable and the experimental dynamic errors accuracy can meet with the requirements.The measuring range of this system is from 0.5mm to 4.0mm, and the limiting error of dynamic measurement is±23.25μm. The measurement speed can reach to 193 times per second. The overall performance of the newly-designed system reaches the requirements of the Jinduicheng Molybdenum Corporation.
