The Study Of Generator Cost Analysis And Bidding Strategies For Power Plant

The power industry in the worldwide is experiencing unprecedented deregulation for breaking traditional monopoly, introducing competition and establishing electricity markets. The power industry in China is now under the way of restructuring and generation markets are being established with the foundation of the five main generation group companies. In the environment of the power market, bidding for the power output is the main strategy and activity for the power plant to make income. Therefore, the optimal bidding strategy should be studied to gain maximal profits for the power plant. Because generation cost is the very important component of bidding price or reference, it is necessary to analyze generation cost accurately and timely. So, the study on generation cost analysis and bidding strategies are very significant for power plants.In this thesis, the studied contents are mainly focused on the following several aspects:1,On the basis of the analysis of the cost composition, a novel generation fixed cost allocation method based on generation unit outage rate is presented . The method is reasonable and practical, and it could ensure the callback of the fixed cost on schedule.2,The quadratic curve shape for the generation cost– power curve is acquired through the curve fitting by least square method. Main factors which affect the variable cost are achieved by sensitivity analysis.3,A novel bidding strategy considering balance account is proposed for the optimal bidding strategies of power plants under generation power market. The test results indicate that the bidding strategy can maximize the profit of power plant and at the meantime, it also ensure that the power market operates stably and safely.4,A real-time cost calculating module is developed, which is one of key modules in the generation cost management and bidding system, and a new framework of bidding system is also proposed.
