A self-authorized platform for diesel electronic control unit development was built in this thesis, the theory of platform came out of modern Software-In-the-Loop (SiL), Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HiL) based development methodology in foreign countries.The development process is standardized, integrative and shortened by the introduction of the development platform, what's more, Cost and time to market which are crucial factors to ensure continued success in a competitive world are also reduced and shortened. The performance of system is optimized by adjusting parameters of strategies and algorithms. The work and achievements in this thesis are mainly as follows:1. Development of zero-dimensional diesel model based on MATLAB/Simulink for diesel simulation. With the successful appearance of Integration for non-consecutive value by building crank angle based signal source and integration model in MATLAB/Simulink environment, a zero-dimensional diesel model which can precisely reveal the working process of diesel was developed accordingly. From compression between simulation results and measured values of a 6-cylinder electronic control high pressure common-rail diesel, the precision of the zero-dimensional diesel model achieved a great Satisfaction in simulation for the development of diesel electronic control system.Moreover, the zero-dimensional diesel model based on MATLAB/Simulink is fully opened, some other functional models can be added, eg. Exhaust and after-treatment model and SCR model etc. Calculation results (cylinder pressure and temperature etc.) of this model supply with significant parameters for model expansion in the future.2. Development of diesel MVEM (Mean Value Engine Model) model as well as driveline and Vehicle dynamic model. The MVEM model has a good simulation accuracy by comparing the mean value simulation results of MVEM model and zero-dimensional model based on BOOST. Furthermore, MVEM model runs faster than zero-dimensional model. Compare to other engine models, MVEM has the best compromise between calculation speed and accuracy, fits for real time dynamic simulation in diesel electronic control system development.3. Development of ECU model (control strategy model) based on MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow. The ECU model which integrated OBD (On-board Diagnosis) model could realize most functions of electronic controller. The ECU model as well as zero-dimensional model was integrated for SILS. In this way , control strategy was developed and validated. Then, the ECU model was compiled to executable C program by Auto-code generator and embedded into Manual code. The integrated code was successfully compiled and downloaded in Keil C environment.4. A ECU hardware was designed for the development of diesel electronic control system. High-performance 16/32 bit micro-controller Infineon XC2786X was selected as main processor of ECU. Sensors and driving circuits were also depicted in this thesis.5. A simplified HILS platform was developed and using which, dynamic process of diesel was simulated. As a result, this HILS platform can be used as a effective tool to the development and validation of control strategy.
