Small hollow concrete block has been widely used in engineering due to its distinct economic and social benefits. The reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall structure is put forward in terms of the research of small hollow concrete block structure and reinforced block structure. Meanwhile, this structure also possesses the predominance of reinforced concrete short-leg wall. The frame supported reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall structure will extend the application of small hollow concrete block.An experimental model(1:1scale) of frame supported reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall was built, and the behavior of frame beam and the reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall under the action of thin destructive vertical load was studied.The static test shows that the building has good arch action. The frame beam and the reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall that above it cooperated just in the way how frame-wall beam worked. The longitudinal and transverse frame beams were eccentric tension member.FEA program SAP2000 was adopt to simulate the behaviors of frame supported reinforced short-leg masonry shear wall beam. By the arch action ,the moment and shear of longitudinal and transverse frame beam reduced obviously under vertical load, all the beam were eccentric tension member. Meanwhile an extensive parametric study was conducted to analyze the effect of different factors( intensity of the wall,section height of frame beam,intensity of the concrete of frame beam ).The results show that intensity of the wall and section height of frame beam were more affected factors.Base on the result of both experiment and FEA, some necessarily devices were put forward for how to design frame-wall beam in this form, and how to do deeper research of this structure form.
