The indexes of diversity, fractal dimension, Patch density,landscape fragment of inner habitat area to study diversity of type, pattern and patch of urban landscape in Xinxiang city. The results show that: the urbanization in Xinxiang develop so fast that a lot of city ecological problems emerge such as the exploding population and the phenomenon of city hot island and try island, air pollution, deficiency of water,water pollution, sandy wind and so on. Another study result shows that the area of public green lands are limited in the city and street-by-wood, which are shrinking as long as the enlargement of the manmade landscape and is of a high indexes of fragment. There is not any forest nor big lake in Xinxiang urban area. On the contrary to that, the building areas are dominating 76.29% of the whole city area with the roads and railways followed. The diversity index of patch density shows that lake and river have the lowest index of 0.067/km2 and building block have a highest index of 9.96/km2. In all, the patches built by man, occupied 88.93% of the urban area and natural landscape patches be squeezed to the smallest possible area. From these data we note that ecological planning is what we must beginning in Xinxiang and the detailed suggestions are giving:First, add more ecological green patches especially those green lands composite by trees bushes and grass which will give the best ecology result. Second, a Green Pole shall be set up along the Jingguang railway and longhair railway with the People's park as a Green Center. Based on the scenery of the People's park, green patches can be enlarged along the Jinshui River and Xionger River. Third, a wood ring should be planted around the city. Forth, the analysis is undertaken by using Distance-Decay Function, which is based on idea concerning the concept"corridor benefit". The demarcation line between artificial corridor and natural corridor is the synthetic benefit point from the theory analysis. It is suggested that there are two synthetic benefit points on the curves of Distance-Decay Functions for the existence of a natural corridor between two artificial corridors. In particular, it is necessary to avoid a high density of artificial corridors and to improve social and economic benefits in the natural corridors. The fifith, make the western Xinxiang a beautiful natural landscape. Next is that encourage the citizens to make themselves a good habit of using natural gas in stead of coal. What the last part discussed in this article is that the city ruler should pay more attention to the environment problem. Ecological planning includes planning of enviromentally sensitive area and planning of green ecological spaces. The objectives of the planning reach security, health, convenience, comfort and spirit in social, ecological and economical ones. The principles of protection of enviromentally sensitive areas, diversity and sustainability should be adhered to in planning.
