This thesis analyzes the electric characteristic of Metal-Oxide Surge Arrester, and introduces the working principle and several measurement methods of the on-line monitoring system for MOA. Due to the harmonic and the phase interference of the power grids, it is the most effective method that Monitoring the leakage current and getting parameter of basic resistance wave current combined with Fourier transform frequency spectrum analysis. Meanwhile, this method can eliminate interference and reliably reflect the characteristic of MOA. In light of the impact of the scene, we use the method of projection as a monitoring method. The system is actually designed based on this theory. We propose a new on-line monitoring distributed system for Metal-Oxide Arrester based on CAN bus. Besides, the hardware and software of the system are outlined.TMS320F2812, which is the product of Texas Instruments, is the core of the local measurement unit. The hardware circuits of the system include many parts, such as power supply, the acquisition of the signal, signal conditioning, data processing and transmission. System uses C program to implement some functions such as A/D conversion, data processing, communication, and so on.Anti-interference measures were considered in hardware and software of this design, which made the whole measuring system have good anti-jamming performance and high measurement precision. Test results meet the design requirements.
