This research topic comes from actual requirements, aimed to develop a computer monitoring and control system of power lithium battery production line that based on CAN bus. This production line is an integrated automation control system which includes machine, electricity, control and management, and it makes pneumatic technology, sensor technology, embedded technology and control technology as a whole, which forms an advanced processing and manufacturing system. Computer monitoring system provides users an intuitive control platform, it is convenient for the users to control the production line, reduce the labor intensity, and improve the production efficiency.Aiming at the characteristics of power lithium battery production line, there have been developed a computer monitoring and control system of power lithium battery production line, and researched the software exploitation of computer monitoring and control system including devising principle, system configuration and realization process of the program code, and accomplished the software design. The software mainly includes location equipment layer, database layer and human machine interface layer, etc. In this paper, it makes upper machine, lower machine and CAN bus communication control method applied to the production line control system, and then introduce the development process of the system in order. This system consists of main control computer, CAN adapter card PCL-841 and the unit control nodes located in each station of the production line. Each station control unit communicate with the PC through the CAN network; CAN adapter card has realized the function of industrial computer CAN communication; Master computer communicate with each control node through the CAN network, realize centralized management function, to form a distributed control structure that distributed monitoring and centralized management. This paper describes the development of PC monitoring system in detail, because the computer monitoring system has high reliability requirements, monitoring software need to run 24 hours a day to monitor the state of the lower machine. All lower machine information will be sent to the upper machine, therefore, the reliability of the upper machine for data acquisition and processing is a very important aspect. Besides, debugging stage is also very important, because a lot of errors will show up at this stage.In the actual test, this system is a stable and a reliable performance, and it can complete the task of lithium battery assembling. Electric cars have become an important tendency of the future automobile traffic in our country, so the lithiumion power battery provides a broad market prospect, and the design of the production line will have a good market prospect in the future.
