With the development and application of electric technology, the importance of the Power quality is increasing. It is urgent requirement that to supply adequate and excellent electric energy. Improving and controlling power quality is a system project, as the closer connection of modern electrical grid and user. It is an effective approach that optimizing the power quality on the customer side. Measurement & control unit of power quality applied in the end of the power grid, by the signals sampling and reactive power compensation , which can measuring and optimizing the power quality of the distribution system.This paper designs a new supervisory &control unit of power quality, which had actualized in the application. The major research and production of this paper as follows:1) The main controlling system which based on the DSP chip of TMS320LF2407 is developed. At the same time , it designed the hard modules, such as data storing module,communicating module,displaying module and controlling module which were used for extending the exterior functions.2) It developed the communicating module which embedded the chip of MC35, and this module could realize the real-time mobile communication. On the base, it makes the communication between the unit and main station come true using the agreement of 101 which is used for the Telecontrol equipment and systems transmission protocol.3) Study the character of Power Quality and method of calculation, using Fast Fourier algorithm for accurate and timely analysis of analog, and calculated of Power Quality parameters.4) Consider the optimization of power quality and effectiveness of the method, using real-time phase reactive power compensation algorithm optimization of reactive power compensation effect, design a safe and effective smart reactive compensation program, permit significant improvement in the power quality actual operation.
