Power system model is the basis of power system operation and analysis. It is necessary to establish the accurate models of power system components according to the practice. This thesis focuses on the excitation system and governing system of one actual gas turbine generator. Firstly, the excitation system model is determined based on analyzing the field data, the parameters of the model are identified by least-squares method, and then the model of the excitation system and its parameters are validated by the simulation of grid collapse of Lunnan station. Secondly, after fully understanding the principle of gas turbine and thermal cycling process, the governing model of a single gas turbine is established according to the mechanism modeling, which is suitable for power system analysis. The simulation about the model at load dump by Matlab is studied and its results are consistent with the field measured results, which proves that the model is valid.
