Train Communication Network (TCN) is a data communication network in which all control detection and diagnosis information are carried for International Electro-technical commission (IEC) has constituted a TCN standard—IEC61375-1. it is divided into train level communication network—Wire Train Bus (WTB) which is used for connecting dynamically reorganized vehicles and vehicle level communication network—Multifunction Vehicle Bus (MVB) which is used for connecting fixed devices on vehicle. At present, because of related technology and product of MVB are monopolized by several foreign companies, and insufficient of the digestion and re-development on the technology introduced into China. All those are not good for products research and standard establishment of our own. For all of the reasons above, the author commit herself to MVB research of TCN.The technology of popular field bus at present is taken as a background in the article, and the vehicle data communication theory is analyzed thoroughly, and the comparison is carried between several vehicle field-buses and MVB/WTB of TCN standard in all aspect. The advantage of MVB in the vehicles is highlighted. The interface unit of MVB is implemented by using FPGA+SOC designing, the efficiency of network channel and the situation of network operation are evaluated by analyzing the performance of MVB network. The Multifunction Vehicle Bus Controller is implemented by combing SOPC and hardware description language unified ,by tracing the development situation and the researched method of technique on train communication network in the domestic and foreign country, by analyzing and comparing the advantage and disadvantage of the general field-buses (ex: LonWorks, WorldFIP,CAN and so on )and the applied characteristic's foundation, by analyzing and researching the protocol characteristic of the physics layer and data link layer of MVB in TCN standard, by analyzing the MVB communication controller and the data communication theory. It has a significant meaning of theoretical guide and practical value to the start stage on train communication in our own country. It promotes the domestic train communication network to close to the international standard. It is necessary to advance the further research, because the development in our own country need to close to international development on city rail transportation enterprise:(1) the Train Communication Network technology is conducted by the thorough system's research;(2)the upper protocol of MVB is researched and the upper application is consummated based on operation system uc/os II of the existing SOC system ;(3)the omni-directional unification train situation monitor and the fatal diagnosis is established, the ground data is gathered, the man-machine interface is processed ,the vehicle data is managed , the application scopes of the train security and the comfort of passenger and so on is expanded in TCN.
