The general structure and primary operating principle of the Photocatalytic reactor was introduced. The main content was focused on the numerical simulation and experimental research of O-ring sealing between the quartz glass and platetube in Photocatalytic reactor. The constitutive character of the sealing material was also considered. The viscoelasticity of the rubber was supposed as superelasticity in the finite element simulation and the two parameter Mooney-Rivlin theory model was selected. The high elongation theory was adopted in geometry non-linearity, and the non-linearity balanced equation was deduced with Total Lagrange, and the contact behaviour was reduced to open contact, viscidity contact and slippage contact. The large deformation contact non-linearity model of the rubber was constituted, and the relationship between the contact pressure and compression ratio, the change of the Von-Mises stress was found in precompact situation. The self-sealing of the O-ring was validated and the sealing tolerance curve was found when the O-ring was in fluid pressure with certainty compress ratio. The viscoelasticity of the rubber was reappearance by the research of the burdening decay experiment, and the relationship between contact pressure and compression ratio for a while was consistent with the simulation. It proved that the assumption of the superelasticity was feasible. The fit of the decrement to the simulation was done with the burdening decay experiment, and the curve and equation of the decrement was found. The size of the deformation in the tubeplate which install the O-ring was found by the simulation of the deformation of the tubeplate. The groove size of the O-ring which provided the design basis for the development of the Photocatalytic reactor was designed by considering the deformation of the tubeplate and the relationship between the compression ratio and contact pressure of the O-ring.
