The traditional design method of the caisson breakwaters usually takes the static measure, regardless of the effect of dynamic characteristic of breakwater on the design load. It is not applicable any longer of the traditional static design method, because of the transient kinetic characteristic by impact wave force. In the past, only the break waves during one period have been considered. In fact the wave force of break wave is continuous and long-playing. At present, the dynamic response analysis of Caisson Breakwater is assumed that storm occurring only once a year and overlooks the probability characteristics of the storm (typhoon) occurring frequency. In fact, the frequency of storm occurring is a random variable, with the certain probability characteristics. Wave spectrum and wave time history are used for simulation of a continuous and long-playing random waves in this paper while the influence of storm occurring frequency is considered. This paper established a random wave process model based on the storm occurring frequency of per year. It is more accurate to stimulate the reflection of the impact of the storm to the caisson breakwater in whole life time.The main production included in this paper is as follows:1. The storm occurring frequency is considered when the random wave process model is established. It increases the physical meaning of the probability model and increases the sample size in the case of that there are only short-term wave data.2. The wen-sc wave spectrum is used instead of JONSWAP spectrum in the paper. It is because the former is more convenience and is suggest by standard.3. The sample capability of the existing model is litter because of the speed of the stimulation program. Some algorithms are modified in this paper to increase the calculation speed and get large capability samples.4. A probabilistic method of the whole life dynamic analysis of a caisson breakwater for the design of breakwater is provided.
