With the development of cities , many cities face to the lack problem of water resource . Rainwater is the most kind of fundamental straight economical of water resource and important part of water circulation system nature , at the same time , it is the key effect to supplement ground water resource , and improve and protect entironment , so rainwater is a important approach to continue development of water resource . And then more and more cities built demonstration project about rainwater utilization , but it is difficult if we want to apply this viewpoint to conduct our practice because the rainwater theory is still imperfect . In order to enrich and promote the rainwater theory , this research work , regarding the measures of the rainwater quality and the analysis of urban rainwater utilization potential , is carrying through about built up area of Jinan central city .To provide the background to the feasibility of the potential of urban rainwater utilization , firstly , based on the investigation of the present research of the utilization of urban rainwater , the author researches the influence of utbanization on the utilization of urban rainwater and the relationship of urbanization and the utilization of urban rainwater , and points out the outline of the present research of rainwater utilization , and advances the mean of the utilization of urban rainwater .Secondly , a systemically study of annually rainfall data and monthly rainfall data in Jinan from 1952~2005 is put forwards , and superstorm data from 1921~2006 is analyzed . So the author comprehends the rainfall character in Jinan and draws the frequency curve , especially , finds our the seasonal reduction factor . Thirdly , the precipitation at Jinan city was studied during the period from Aprill 2007 to Octorber 2007 . Fourteen times of chemical tests were conducted and nine items of water quality indexes were measured for the natural precipitation , runoff from house roofs , and runoff frome traffic roads . The results show that the water quality in runoff from different surfaces changes litter during initial raining period . As the precipitation time go last with time by , plenty of the concentration of the pollutants drop gradually . Then the author gets relations among the main pollutants in the runoff of different surfaces and makes a erosive law of pollutants from rainwater runoff . It is helpful to test effectively , to analysis quantitativerly , to analyze potential of rainwater utilization and to make effective control measures.Finally , this paper researches the necessity and feasibility of utilization of Jinan rainwater , points out four calculation procedures of urban rainwater utilization potential , and by the first three measures calculates potential of rainwater reasource in built up city of Jinan . At last , based on the contrastive conclusions , results show that the potential resources of Jinan rainwater can be 0.5×108m~3 and the practical resources can be 0.4×108m~3 . To take the Shandong Jianzhu university Professorial Garden as example , analyze the quantity of rainwater and the demand of sundry water in the flood period . The demand of sundry water is 44331.6m~3 , the quantity of available rainwater is 31637.2m~3 , which is about 71 percent of the sundry water flow .
