Level Laser is an instrument which can give a level or horizontal line as benchmark. The new kind of automatic self-leveling laser make the laser trajectory as a benchmark, which is beamed by semiconductor laser diodes. The instrument has the advantage of compact, cheap, simple and widely applied. It is widely used in excavation work such as airport building,highways building, tunnels building and salt pond scooping. However, most of the automatic self-leveling lasers used in the domestic construction, presicer than 10〃, is impoted, with exorbitant cost. To design an electronic automatic self-leveling laser with the advantage of high-ptecision and low-cost is the objective of the paper.The emphasis of the paper is placed on the hardware design including the leve monitoring circuit, the level controling circuit, laser scaning circuit, the fast-charge management circuit. the interface, parts selecting and parameter setting; the software design including level judgement program, motors controling program and laser scan controling program;At last, the leveling error of the instrument is measured. The outstanding of this system lies in the following three aspects:First, high-precision capacitance angle sensor is used as a level monitoring senor, capacitance-digital convertor with advantage of low-cost and high-precision is convert the capacitance signals from the differential capacitive sensors directly to digital data,so the difficulty for systerm design is eased and the cost is reduced. And then make the capacitance measurement release from the limit in traditon. Level monitoring with high precision, good stability and low cost can be achieved with the circuit in this paper.Second, transmiting data through I2C bus simplify design of the system. PID algorithms is used in the velocity controling of the DC motors, so better perfofmance of the instrument can be got for more steadily leveling.Third, Rechargeable batteries is used for the portable instrument,and the purpose of the intelligent management of the energy, leveling circuit and laser scaning ciucuit by means of low power MCU is to minimize the power consumption and prolong the working period of the instrument.
