With the fact that the economy of China has been developing at a high speed and the step of citification is accelerated, the rapidly growing population of cities brings the tremendous traffic pressure to the city. At the moment, many Chinese big cities are facing traffic problems. Under such a background, a lot of big cities of our country have begun to build the subway, and except that the construction of the subway can ease urban traffic pressure and promote the city's development further. Along with the subway construction, some problems have also emerged. In all of these problems, the issue that how to make the new subway station integrate with the existing city system is very important. Basing on the perspective of relationship of subway station and city, this paper gives the view that the subway station must integrate with the city both on the architectural form and space, and studies a number of issues about subway stations' integration with the city.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter introduces the background, purpose, ideas and methods of the study. Chapter II is the basic research part which starts with the history of city space, and focuses on the important role that the construction of the subway plays to the development of city, and gives the concept that the subway station should integrate with the city. Chapter III and IV are the main parts which discuss the subway station and the city's relationship from architectural form and space. Chapter III studies architectural form of subway station and discusses a series of problems of how to integrate with city in architectural form. Chapter IV studies architectural space of subway station and discusses a series of problems of how to integrate with city in architectural space. Chapter V introduces several subway stations as examples, and tries to summarize some experience about the subway stations' integration with the city. Chapter VI makes summary and evaluation about subway station in Tianjin, and also provides a lot of proposals about how to make Tianjin's subway stations integrate with the city better in the future.
