Probe System, Ship Navigation And Fish-based Embedded Linux

In this dissertation, a Ship Navigation and Fish-Finder System Based on Embedded Linux is proposed. This system is developed based on high performance 32-bits embedded processor(MPC823) and Embedded Linux, and has been proved to be powerful, high-reliable, low-cost. It integrates two functional components and becomes a necessary tool for safe sailing and scientific fishing.In chapter 1, the author describes the current development status of ECS (Electronic Chart System) , Embedded Linux and GUI, as well as the significance of the research work.In chapter 2, the functions of this system are discussed in detail and a feasible scheme is addressed.In chapter 3, the description about the hardware, development platform and related background knowledge is given. The hardware is designed based on embedded processor, while the software is designed based on Embedded Linux, Qt/Embedded and PPCBOOT.In chapter 4, the software design is discussed in detail. The system software is divided into six modules: Electronic Chart displaying module, course design and monitor module, people-machine interface module, fish-finder module, GPS module, driver module.In chapter 5, the main research conclusion is given. The prospect of further research work is also discussed.
