Research On Landscape Construction In Renovation Of Urban Waterfront

Waterfront is the source of all creatures in the world and the cradle of human civilization, which is one of the most energetic parts in cities. With the adjustment of industry structure, waterfront renewals came into a fast-developing age, from the end of last late-century, which made waterfront landscaping an acknowledged focus and hot issue. From this perspective, this article made a further research on landscaping in waterfront renewal on the basis of mass instance analyses.Based on the discrimination and analysis of the concepts of waterfront, urban waterfront, renewal and landscape, etc and the advances of theories related of domestic and international, this article focused the research domain on the waterfronts, which have ruined or has such a trend, and studied the landscaping in those areas. After specifying the subjects studied, firstly, the history of urban waterfront in our country, status quo of urban waterfront landscaping and urban landscape waterfront driving factors were analyzed to form a general understand of renewal of waterfront landscape. Then comparing approach was advanced to compare different methods and ideologies: Chinese traditional"lishui"cultures and modern waterfront landscaping ideologies, urban waterfront renewals domestic and abroad, construction of new urban waterfront areas and renewal of old ones, which made a insight of modern urban waterfront landscape in our country with a broad horizon and from a multi-perspective to distinguish and realize the complexity and contradiction of urban waterfront renewal in our country and find out guidelines and theories for the urban waterfront landscaping in our country. On the study of basic theories and comparing analysis, landscaping strategies were put forwards in urban waterfront renewal, including specification of landscaping subjects, establishment of landscaping principles and countermeasures on the natural-ecological and historical-human dimensions. Besides, factors of landscape characteristics were studied intensively, which included ecological factors, landscape spatial factors and historical-cultural factors. Characteristics of each factor and landscaping method were summarized and conclude to realize coordinated development and revival of urban waterfront.In the end, this paper indicates waterfront renewal has close relation with the developments of economy, society and culture. Landscape renewal should compromise with the development of cities, and urban waterfront landscape renewal should be carried out in the circumstance of the whole urban landscape system. So, construction of waterfront landscape, landscaping of water-enjoyable space and continuance of historical culture were more discussed, and some measures were put forward to guide waterfront landscape renewal on a healthy development to promote the comprehensive functions of whole cities.
