Management Information System using component-based GIS is developed in the paper according to DaQing Electric Power Bureau with the practical task. The system adopts relational database to manage spacial data on the Electric fence monitor, which is convenient for intercurrent operation and safety control of spacial data. The space searching can rapidly and effectively manage distribution data and has right extension. The system integrates the technology such as data acquisition, graphic display and C/S, which are combined with electric power operation. Then the system has the function such as graph management, distribution establishment management and distribution system analysis, which provides guarantee for safety production and improves working efficiency. The principle of GIS is based on the Windows Operating System, and the superiority of component-based GIS is discussed detailedly. Then, according to the production requirement, the system design and its function are discussed detailedly also. The topology analysis of distribution line based on GIS is researched to improve the analysis efficiency and accuracy of line. It greatly improved our efficiency of each department and also provide a conveniently official tools in the management of electric distribution network.
