In recent years, we have used in industries more and more automation technologies which are based on advanced information techniques and control methods including computer, PLC, industrial control computer, man-machine interface, fieldbus and so on. PLC is now the primary control devise in the automation domain for its following advantages- higher dependability, better anti-jamming ability, abundant functions etc. PROFIBUS is one kind of the fieldbus technologies which could be used to connect locale equipments and plant supervisor so that achievement of synthetical automation in plants becomes feasible. Furthermore, an integrated control system should have not only hardware and software for controlling but also human machine interface which makes the operation much easier. This wagon tipper control system based on PLC and industrial control computer is designed on the basis of taking full advantages of the above-mentioned technologies. PLC (S7-300) together with industrial computer is two cores of the system and they are connected with each other via MPI technique. Industrial computer is used as topper machine to supervise and manage the function of the whole system, while PLC is used as rock-bottom controller which controls six ABB frequency converters by PROFIBUS technology. The software including the main procedure and subprograms of this system is worked out on the foundation of STEP7 provided by Siemens corp. I used WINCC created the man-machine interface to control the whole system and in the meanwhile supervise the operation by watching the cartoons on the screen. Since been plunged into real application, this system has been working stably and reliably. The vivid man-machine interface promotes the productive efficiency and guarantees the safety of the operators. |
