Research On The Intercourse Space Of The Residence For Elders

China is entering the aging society. Providing inhabitation of the elders in this aging society has become more and more urgent. Meanwhile, intercourse of elders is closely related to the physical and mental health of elders. As the change of the notion of living the old age, the apartment for senior citizens has become a popular choice among the elders. Thus, the perfect the design of for intercourse space of the elderly house is the top priority for architectures.Above all, in first chapter, the trend of the aging society will be expatiated, as well as our special situation in China in terms of the shortage of residence for the large numbers of elders. Therefore, the development of the residence for elders is urgently needed in our country. In the second chapter, the history and current situation of the apartment for senior citizens in developed countries is reviewed from the perspective of meeting the psychological demands of the elders. The recent development of the apartment for senior citizens in China is also presented with an actual investigation for the apartment for senior citizens in Beijing.Secondly, after analyzing the physical, mental, and behavioral characteristic of the elders, the special requirement of the intercourse of the elders is summarized in the third chapter. Some problems in the design of the apartment for senior citizens are discussed in the forth chapter, based on the analysis of various layers in the intercourse space. In the fifth chapter, the connection between the elder's intercourse behavior and intercourse space will be discussed in the following two aspects:what the special requirement are in the intercourse of the elders and how the design of intercourse space will impact the intercourse behavior of elders.In the last part, after summarizing five parts above, several principles for the design of intercourse space is proposed to meet the special demands of elders.
