Water conservancy construction is a complex major systems engineering. All traditional kinds of earlier stage experiments in allusion to water conservancy are to adopt contractible physics entities. There exist many problems in this method. While water conservancy VR simulation technology which combines water conservancy and VR technology, compensates some deficiencies of traditional method.This article searches on characteristics and realization method of VR and confirms the way of water conservancy VR simulation technology. In the base of Harbin diversion projection which is about to be in progress, on microcomputer platform, searches and realizes a middle complexity degree VR system which has a good application and can compare alternate schemes.This article introduces VR simulation exploitation platform composed of three-dimensional modeling software MultiGen, three-dimensional scene management software OpenGVS, and three-dimensional graphics rendering software interface OpenGL, specifies the functions and modules and main bodies of the three software and modeling of 3D terrain models and 3D surface features models. The core part of this article is the compiling of scene drive program.3D models are only used to supply scene to VR. In VR, in order to realize users interaction, scene drive program must be designed. This part first introduces the main resources of OpenGVS, then introduces the basic flow of OpenGVS SDK about program of OpenGVS in MFC of VC++, at last specifies the functions in the article : 3D models import manners, manual scene cruise and self-motion scene cruise, collision detection, scheme switch, simple query and third order terrain display.
