AFRAMAX Tanker Development Based On New Rules And Convention

In recent years, as more and more attentions are paid on the ship safety and environment protection, many new rules and conventions are developed. The application of these new rules and conventions induce great effect on general performance and structure design of ships such as AFRAMAX tanker. The design and development of the new AFRAMAX tanker based on these new rules and conventions are studied in this dissertation, and the following investigation have been carried out,1) Choosing the popular principal particular of AFRAMAX tanker;2) Development of lines with good performance;3) Developing the general arrangement and ballast water management plan and checking the general performance for compliance with the relative requirement;4) Optimizing the ship mid-section and assessing the structure strength according to the CSR.
