With the improvement of expressway construction and the enlargement of its scale, the road transport industry of china is gradually entering into a stage of sound development. Accordingly, the truck types in china have changed a lot. Some types of trucks meet the demand of market develop quickly, while certain types of trucks that are out of the date gradually withdraw from the market. Therefore, this paper concentrates on the status quo of the utility of trucks, the technical problems occurred during the course of the truck's utility and the trend of the trucks'development.Firstly, from the perspective of freight transport market demand, the author analyses development trend of the trucks. Through practical investigation, the author, studies the structure of truck types, current situation of truck utility, the technical problems occurred during the course of the truck's application and the changing truck types. Combining with related transport regulations, industry Standard, and guideline of governmental departments, the author also analyses the developing tendency of the truck types. Secondly, according to the statistics of expressway traffic flow database of Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and other expressways in Jiangsu and Fujian, the author analyses the change of different types of trucks, the structure of truck types and their developing tendency. Finally, the author has investigated the technical problems occurred during the course of the truck's utility. By collecting and analyzing of the data obtained from the investigation, the author concludes the rules and the characteristics of the technical problems occurred during the course of the truck's utility.
